Kylie Padilla has shared some of the love lessons she learned from her upcoming GL (girls’ love) series with Andrea Torres titled “BetCin.”
In a Zoom press conference for the series on Tuesday evening, Kylie was asked about what she had learned or reflected on about love so far.
“The social media aspect and a couple going through a breakup under the microscope [of] social media,” she said.
“Napatanong din ako sa sarili ko ano bang impact ng social media ko sa buhay ko? Am I doing too much? Am I sharing too much? What is my truth and how can I make my life better, more productive and balance everything out.”
The actress said she learned a lot about relationships as she portrayed her character Beth while Andrea played Cindy.
“You’re gonna learn to love each character in all their flaws, and all their mess mamahalin mo sila,” she said.
Kylie said she thought Beth and Cindy were “imperfect people but they try their best.”
She said their love for each other was “pure” but “it’s just that under the circumstances ganon talaga, minsan ang pag-ibig hindi talaga nagwo-work out.”
Kylie also said this show was a timely blessing in her life.
“You know what this show was such a blessing for me because it came to a time where I really wanted to sink my teeth into a project that I really love,” she said.
“Into a character that I wanted to just really … gusto ko mawala muna si Kylie and doon muna ako papasok muna ako sa shoes niya and mawawala muna ako and I would just have so much fun.”
The actress said “BetCin” was the perfect project because when she read the script she fell in love with her character.
“Hindi ko pa nga natatapos ’yung first episode I was like, ‘oh my gosh I know her, I need to give this character justice, I just know her I know what she’s going through, I know her wants and needs and I just know kaya kong gumawa ng character na ma-eenjoy ko,’” she said.
She said she really enjoyed playing Beth and the cast members were begging to have a second season.
“BetCin” is set to premiere Oct. 18, 8 p.m., on We TV Philippines.
In July, Kylie’s father Robin Padilla confirmed that she and husband Aljur Abrenica had separated.
She recently broke her silence on reports that Aljur had been dating sexy actress AJ Raval.
According to an exclusive interview published by PEP.ph on Monday, Kylie said her only wish was for Aljur to be happy as he remained the father of her two sons Alas and Axl. – RC, GMA News
