After a long wait, it’s finally time to sit back, relax, and enjoy the shows again on the big screen!
With Philippine cinemas set to reopen Nov. 10, films have already been lined up for the pleasure of moviegoers.
To keep everyone on track amid all the excitement, here is a list of movies that are showing this month:
Nov. 10
“Dune”: Directed by Academy Award nominee Denis Villeneuve, “Dune” follows the heroic journey of Paul Atreides, who goes to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure his people’s future.
Based on Frank Herbert’s bestselling novel, it stars Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgard, Dave Bautista, and Chang Chen, among other actors.
“A Quiet Place Part II”: Starring Emily Blunt, the second chapter of the 2018 film “A Quiet Place” circles on the Abbott family, who are forced to journey to the outside world while trying to survive in silence.
As they venture into the unknown, they realize that more threats await them apart from the creatures that hunt by sound. Joining Blunt are Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, and Noah Jupe.
Nov. 17
“Black Widow”: The upcoming Marvel film follows the life of Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) before she joined the Avengers. It’s set before “Avengers: Infinity War” and after “Captain America: Civil War.”
Directed by Cate Shortland, it also stars David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle and Rachel Weisz.
“Don’t Breathe 2”: After “Don’t Breathe” in 2016, home intruders focusing on 11-year-old Phoenix leaves Norman Nordstorm no choice but to reveal what’s hidden beneath him in new and unexpected ways.
Directed by Rodo Sayagues and written together with Fede Alvarez, the second film stars Stephen Lang, Brendan Sexton III, and Madelyn Grace.
“No Time To Die”: While enjoying a chill, tranquil, and mission-less life in Jamaica, James Bond’s peace is interrupted when his friend Felix Leiter asks for help to rescue a kidnapped scientist.
As he carries on with the task, he encounters a mysterious villain armed with deadly new technology. It stars Daniel Craig, Léa Sydoux, and Rami Malek, among other actors. It’s directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga.
Nov. 24
“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”: With impeccable power bestowed upon him, the Avenger Shang-Chi finally applies his years of training and unleashes his unbelievable skills.
However, his abilities draw him back to the organization he has tried to run away from—the Ten Rings. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, it stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Chiu-Wai Leung, and Ben Kingsley.
“Malignant”: Haunted by visions of murder, Madison is tormented and gets paralyzed upon realizing that her waking dreams are in fact, happening in real life.
Horror thriller “Malignant” stars Annabelle Wallis, Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Jacqueline McKenzie, Jake Abel, and Ingrid Bisu. It’s directed by “Conjuring” director James Wan.
Together with the announcement of movie theaters’ return, these cinemas have assured that safeguards have been implemented for the health and safety of guests.
Among the safety protocols to be imposed are wearing of face masks throughout the film, no eating nor drinking, and being one seat apart from each other.
The theaters have also received Safety Seal certifications from their local government units.
