Donnalyn Bartolome opened up on her recent battle with food poisoning, saying it was something she would not want to experience again.
In a nearly 10-minute video on YouTube, Donnalyn shared CCTV clips of her where she’s seen in pain while wearing pajamas in bed.
“I was poisoned. You can die from this,” she said. “It’s deadly because of dehydration. It was the most painful feeling for me.”
“Sobrang sakit nito. You wouldn’t want anyone in your family to feel the way I did. Maaawa kayo [You’ll feel bad for them],” she added.
According to the vlogger, among the symptoms she had were nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and passing out. Donnalyn said she could not even say a word because of how ill she felt.
“Pain comes in waves of short intervals. I’m tapping my pillow to communicate and as a reaction to my pain, I can’t speak,” words on the video read.
Donnalyn said that she would rather be injured than be food poisoned again.
“I would rather break a bone than to ever feel the way I did with food poisoning,” she said. “When you break your bone, you can avoid feeling the pain by just not moving. You can control it.”
“This one, you’re not in control. Not being in control of your body was mental torture for me and feeling mo talaga mamamatay ka na kasi kada hilab ng tiyan ko, it was so painful na mahihimatay ako.”
She recalled eating tilapia or fried fish, tuna in can, mayonnaise, cookies, and milk on the day she got sick. However, she is not sure how exactly she got poisoned as everyone in their household was okay.
Because she wasn’t able to go to the hospital, she stayed at home and shared the things she did to feel better, so viewers could learn a thing or two.
According to Donnalyn, it is best to sit up, stay hydrated, take medications from a doctor, and sleep.
She also took the time to remind her audience to wash their hands regularly and to store their food and clean their utensils properly to avoid such incidents in the future.
