With its new Christmas-themed attractions, Marikina Riverbanks is seeing more visitors as restrictions ease ahead of the holidays.
According to Raffy Tima’s “24 Oras” report Friday, residents from Metro Manila and even as far as Bulacan have been visiting the commercial complex in Marikina City due to the open-air spaces and variety of activities it offers.
Apart from the many food choices and various shops, the place is near the river and lush green areas where people long stuck at home can unwind with nature.
While Marikina Riverbanks is open daily at 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., only visitors 18-59 years old are allowed inside the premises. The ampitheater is also still off-limits.
“Nakikita namin sa foot traffic na unti-unti na ring dumadami. Dalawang reason ’yan. Una, halos dalawang taon nang nakakulong yung mga tao, pangalawa, recently since pababa na tayo sa Alert Level 3, sinasamantala na ng mga tao itong pagkakataon na makalabas naman,” said Riverbanks operations manager Benjamin Aurelio.
As Metro Manila eases to Alert Level 3 starting Oct. 16, Marikina Riverbanks will be adding more marshals to ensure visitors are wearing face masks and observing physical distancing. – RC, GMA News
