GMA Kapuso Foundation recently turned over essentials such as vitamins and grocery packs to soldiers who had contracted COVID-19.
As reported on “24 Oras” Friday, the endeavor was in recognition of the Armed Forces of the Philippines as the foundation’s constant and reliable partner in the distribution of aid to those in need in the communities, among other projects.
“Nakita namin ang sincerity ng GMA Kapuso Foundation, pumupunta talaga kayo sa mga liblib na lugar. You’re going out of your way para tumulong,” said BGen. Kit Teofilo, JTF-NCR commander.
“Meron kaming resources like vehicles, personnel, and we are in the area itself, so what better way to form a partnership than have donors available, and you have an Army willing to go the extra mile para dalhin itong mga resources na ito,” said Ltc. Romolus B. Rabara, commanding officer, 5th HB, 1D.
Even if the soldiers were already fully vaccinated, they still faced the threat of the virus, which they took as “another war,” said Teofilo.
“Kami ay talagang na-touch doon sa effort ng GMA Kapuso Foundation. Hindi lang pala ’yung mga mahihirap lang ang tinutulungan niyo, pati rin mga kasundaluhan natin na nagkakasakit,” he said.
