Filipino-Norwegian singer Clinton Kane is a sinigang lover!
The “I Guess I’m In Love” singer shared this in an online interview with GMA News Online on Thursday, saying he sometimes craved it at night.
“‘I really want that sour soup. I want sinigang right now’ at like 12 a.m. I’m thinking about it and I’m like, ‘it’s so nice to have it right now,’” he said.
The 22-year-old singer-songwriter added that he’s the type to love it when it made him squirm.
“I’m a psycho. I like it very sour so two sinigang packets all in the soup. That’s how I like it,” he said.
Who could blame him? In August, sinigang was hailed the best vegetable soup in the world by Taste Atlas.
Placing second on his favorite Filipino food list are daing na bangus and tocino. “I can’t pick.”
According to Clinton, he had been to the Philippines around five times. Having a Filipino father, he has been pretty much exposed to his roots.

“I live in Vegas so being in the United States, I’m pretty sure I’ve eaten Filipino food about 10 times or 15 times a year ’cause there are so many days in the week where I crave it,” he said.
“’Cause my dad’s Filipino, we had Filipino food growing up and have a variety. It was definitely better in the Philippines, that’s for sure,” he said.
Among the places he had been able to visit in the Philippines, meanwhile, are Palawan, Boracay, Bohol, and Metro Manila.
According to the singer, apart from going on tour and doing shows, he also wants to stock up on Pinoy goodies when he visits the country again.
“I definitely want to go there to go eat Filipino food, sinigang, that stuff. I’m so excited. I can’t wait for sisig and all that,” he said.
Currently staying in Las Vegas, Clinton rose to fame with “I Guess I’m In love,” which has over 42 million streams on Spotify as of writing. It’s also the seventh song on Spotify Philippines’ Top 50.
Released in August, the song has been featured in over 85,000 videos by TikTok users for their loved ones. On YouTube, meanwhile, its music video has nearly four million views.
Clinton’s discography also includes “Chicken Tendies,” “Fix It To Break It,” and “Hopeless.” – RC, GMA News
