SB19 is NCCA’s newest youth ambassador

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) has chosen SB19 as its new youth ambassadors and the face of their global organization, Sentro Rizal.

According to the announcement posted Thursday, the Pinoy pop group was chosen “not only because of their growing fanbase and influence in the local and international scenes, but also of their willingness to support the NCCA’s endeavors, as well as for their genuine care for advocacies to uplift the Filipino spirit, music and culture to the global scene.”

SB19 is a five-member Filipino pop group that consists of Pablo, Josh, Justin, Ken and Stell.

They have gained recognition as the first Southeast Asian and Filipino act to be nominated in the Billboard Music as Top Social Artist in 2021 and the first Filipino act to land in the international Billboard Social 50 and Next Big Sound Charts with second peak spot.

Just this month, they topped Billboard’s weekly Hot Trending Songs chart with their single “Bazinga.”

Apart from their numerous achievements, NCCA also cited SB19’s participation in various activities initiated and supported by the NCCA, namely the annual celebration of the Philippines-Korea Cultural Exchange Festival; Padayon: The NCCA Hour; SR San Francisco’s Kalayaan 2021: A virtual celebration of the 123rd Philippine Independence Day and 75th anniversary of Philippine-US relations; SR Berne’s Fernweh Festival; and Sonik Philippines 2021.
