There’s no question that Kris Aquino’s son Bimby Yap approves of her engagement to former Secretary Mel Sarmiento!
On Wednesday, Kris shared a video where Bimby expressed his approval of his mom’s engagement to the former Department of Interior and Local Government secretary.
According to the Queen of All Media, she first asked for Bimby’s permission last week before she and Mel got engaged.
Expressing his approval and happiness for his mom’s engagement, Bimby said, “I’m very happy of course. You two deserve each other.”
Asked why he easily said yes to Kris, Bimby answered, “it’s because he loves you with no agenda at all and you can really tell he wants to take care of you, me and kuya.”
He added: “And basically I can tell whenever he looks at you his eyes twinkle. Basta you can feel he genuinely loves you, Mom.”
Kris thanked Bimby and said she wouldn’t have said yes without his approval.
In the video, the newly engaged couple also thanked those who poured their love and support for them.
“Salamat sa lahat ng bumati sa ’min,” said the former DILG secretary.

“We want to say thank you very much [because] we have been so touched with overwhelming kindness and the happiness that you have shown that we are happy. Thank you,” said Kris.
“Dahil parang ’yung kaligayahan na nararamdaman ninyo para sa ’min means a lot.”
[Because the happiness you feel for us means a lot.]
She also clarified that the box she featured in her earlier post contained their commitment rings.
