HBO Max finally released the first official trailer for the much-awaited “Game of Thrones” prequel, the “House of the Dragon.”
The video released on social media Tuesday flashed thrones and battles and gave a first look at some of the characters. These include “Doctor Who” actor Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Olivia Cooke as Alice Hightower.
“Gods, kings, fire and blood. Dreams didn’t make us kings—dragons did,” said Prince Daemon Targaryen.
“House of the Dragon,” based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood” book, is set 200 years prior to the events of “Game of Thrones.” It narrates the story of the House of Targaryen and the civil war that became known as the “Dance of the Dragons.”
“Game of Thrones” premiered on HBO in 2011 and ran until 2019.
