The “Cowboy Bebop” universe continues to expand!
Titan Comics has announced that it will be publishing a comic book series and prequel novel based on Netflix’s adaptation of the classic anime.
According to Titan Comic’s website, “Cowboy Bebop: The Comic Series” will introduce fans to a “never-before-seen” story.
It follows the same premise as the original, with the story revolving around the bounty hunter crew of the spaceship Bebop as they go on adventures in the year 2171.
DC comics veteran Dan Watters will pen the series with art by Lamar Mathurin. Cover art will be made y comic legend Stanley “Artgerm” Lau.
The first comic of the four-issue story will arrive in stores this December, with a collected trade paperback coming in May next year.
The prequel novel, titled “Cowboy Bebop A Syndicate Story: Red Planet Requiem,” is set to be launched in November.
Written by series staff member Sean Cummings, it will “explore the rich history of Cowboy Bebop through the eyes of a young Spike Spiegel and Vicious.”
The live-action adaptation of “Cowboy Bebop” is set to premiere on Netflix on November 19. —JCB, GMA News
