An overseas Filipino worker has left his pet dog due to the worsening situation in Afghanistan.
As reported by JP Soriano on “24 Oras” Friday, security officer Mark Suela needed to leave Tiny, his bomb-sniffing partner in Kabul.
After Taliban forces took over Afghanistan and the country was placed by the Philippine government under alert level 4, Mark and other Filipino citizens in the country had to flee.
His heart broke when he was told he couldn’t bring Tiny with him and he was allowed to bring only one bag aboard the military plane of the British Air Force.
“’Yun lang tsaka ’yung passport mo. Wala nang iba. Hindi mo na maga-grab pa ’yung aso,” he said.
Before leaving, Mark left Tiny to the care of an Afghan colleague.
He said he didn’t know how to say goodbye and he knew in his heart that Tiny wanted to come with him.
Mark is now in UK and in quarantine while waiting for his flight back to the Philippines.
He said he’s praying for his Afghan friends left in Kabul together with his best friend Tiny.
“Hindi pa rin maiwasan ’yung lungkot. Napamahal na kasi. Hanggang picture na lang ako at video ng mga alaala,” he said.
While his Afghan friend promised to take care of Tiny, he wished to be with his best friend again someday.
“Umaasa ako na sana safe siya at walang masamang nangyari sa kanya. Sana may chance pa ulit na makuha sya kung halimbawa lang, maibalik man, makita ko ulit.” – RC, GMA News
