COS celebrates Pride in collaboration with fashion photographer Coco Capitan

London-based fashion brand COS celebrates Pride in its new collaboration with well-known photographer Coco Capitan.

COS is launching a T-shirt capsule collection featuring three unique designs with Coco’s signature handwriting style that shows messages of love, freedom, and inclusivity.

One design has the words, “always love because love is always love,” a tribute to love in all its forms. This one is available at COS Manila SM Aura Premier for PHP3,250.

Meanwhile, the two other designs, “a boyfriend called my girlfriend” and “would you be my boyfriend girl queer friend?,” which explore gender orientations and are inspired by Coco’s personal relationships, are available in Europe and US.

The designs are embroidered onto an organic heavyweight cotton T-shirt to lend a boxy, structured fit, and will be available in unisex sizing.

Aside from the T-shirt, a special edition repurposed cotton tote will also be available featuring the colors of the Progress flag.

The tote, which uses excess cotton from the production process, is made to replace disposable packaging.

COS said funds raised from the sales of the T-shirt capsule collection and Pride edition tote would be donated to Philippine-based LGBT+ organizations including Galing, a “female-led non-profit organization working with and for economically disadvantaged LGBTQI” that “seeks to support, educate, and promote the fair treatment of all persons equally regardless of class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.”

Another partner is “Love Yourself,” a “non-profit LGBT organization that provides safe spaces and services for the sexual, mental and transgender community in the Philippines, working towards a just and progressive society that treats all persons equally regardless of class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.”

According to the website Business of Fashion, Coco Capitan is a photographer and artist known for her collaborations with Gucci, with her work featured as part of the brand’s “Art Wall” mural project in New York and Milan.
